Recording personalized music for children, and offering other children's classics along with them, gives me the opportunity to share some of the important values with which many from my generation grew up. I believe that by doing this on a level our children can relate in an entertaining way, we can all make a difference in the lives that we cherish the most. How can personalized music for children make a difference? I am glad you asked... It’s unfortunate, yet somewhat understandable, that the busy lifestyles of today’s two-income families often conflict, or even prevent, the traditional activities on which the valuable principles that many of today’s parents’ own childhoods were based. Yes, times have changed and are still changing. But, does that mean that our means of teaching values to our children have to as well? I can still remember as a young girl going for car rides with my parents. This was long before TV’s started showing up in vehicles or video games became small enough to fit into your pocket. So, we often relied on entertaining ourselves. Well, it never failed. Mom would usually start singing traditional children songs such as “Froggie Went A ‘Courtin” and “Oh Soldier, Soldier.” Now you may not have ever even heard of these since they originated in the 1800’s. However, these classics and others for almost two centuries were passed down from generation to generation proving to be just as popular with our children as they were with us. But why? Well, it’s the values and principles that are taught presented in a light, entertaining way on a level with which our children can relate. If you are involved professionally with business marketing in any way you have probably heard of the Rule of Seven. For years this has taught us that when marketing an idea the public statistically has to be exposed to that idea seven times to get it through to them. So, we look for different ways and mediums by which to present what we’re selling. This is no secret theory and has been studied and proven time and time again. Successful business owners will also tell you learning from the successes and failures of others is a true shortcut to your own success. It's most often those principles, when adapted to our own goals, that will help us reach them faster and with less confliction. But is our personal lives that much different? Well here's a secret, parents are, or have the potential to be, some of the best marketers in the world today and most of them will never know it. These same well established and proven guidelines are followed every day, in our own homes, when presenting anything. This is especially true with the most important ideas being the very principles by which we want our children to learn and live. And, children are not stupid. In fact, a child has a higher capacity to learn new things (intelligence) than most adults and will most often hang on to every word that comes out of their parents' mouth... even though they don't always admit to it at the time.
